Post-doctoral fellows

A post-doctoral fellowship should be a brief transit from a doctoral program to an independent career in academia or industry. That means a two-year duration is the goal with a third year stint if wrapping up publications and grant writing requires it. Post-doctoral slots open up as a function of vacancies appearing in NIH-funded programs as well as industry-sponsored projects around one of our questions.
